Point-to-point
A dedicated communication link that provides a direct connection between two specific locations: from one point to another (point A to point B).
Point-to-point WiFi networks use parabolic/dish or Yagi directional antennas.
Point-to-multipoint
A communication link in which central point (the access point) connects to several other points. For example, indoor wireless networks are point-to-multipoint.
Point-to-multipoint wireless networks usually use omnidirectional or panel antennas with wide beamwidth at the central point.
